Positive Hotline Project for People Living with HIV - 4
Duration: 1 year / February 2024 – February 2025
Budget: 840,000 TL
Supporter: Gilead Sciences

Objective, Goals, and Methodology:
The project, which operated between February 2024 and February 2025, aimed to ensure that people living with HIV and their relatives, both from all provinces of Turkey and abroad, could reach the association and receive information and support from a peer counselor specialized in HIV.
During this period, the project aimed not only to assist people living with HIV but also to provide accurate and reliable information to individuals who had experienced a risky exposure. As a result, individuals unaware of their HIV status were encouraged to get tested, thereby facilitating their access to treatment. The project planned to provide support to an average of 130 individuals per month through peer counseling services and informational guidance for those who had experienced risky exposure.
The hotline, staffed by peer counselors specializing in HIV, offered support in Turkish, English, and French, operating on weekdays from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Outcomes:
Between February 2024 and February 2025:
1,856 consultations were conducted with 1,379 previously diagnosed clients.
1,326 consultations were conducted with 686 newly diagnosed clients.
162 consultations were conducted with 97 individuals awaiting confirmation.
1,478+ consultations were conducted with 1,268 individuals seeking guidance on risky exposure and testing.
In total, 3,696 individuals received support and counseling 5,157 times between February 2024 and February 2025.
